Airwalk launched a geo-fenced virtual store in Venice Beach & Washington Square Park to celebrate the return of the Jim sneaker. Using Augmented Reality & geolocation, the Jim was exclusively available for purchase by capturing the virtual version on site. The result was an innovative shopping experinece for loyal Airwalk fans, who snagged all the available units in just one day.

Avid sneaker fans could only purchase the exclusive product in the two GPS Hotzones. 

Once in the zone, users could find the virtual sneaker floating in the center of the parks. The shoe was seen only through the iPhone camera.




Sneaker freaks captured the shoe and were then directed to a private page to close out their purchase.


Entire inventory sold out in just one day. The Airwalk E-store had its busiest weekend ever.
