AUSTIN BONE / Work / Kimoji

The app “that broke the App Store,” Kimoji, launched in December of 2015 and was reportedly downloaded at a rate of 9,000 times per second on the first day in market. The app became a household name, making Kim’s already famous ASSets a part of the pop culture lexicon forever.

Kimoji shattered the ceiling in terms of downloads and content shares. No stranger to brilliant marketing schemes, Kim was among the first celebrities to jump on the emoji bandwagon.

The app originally launched with 300 custom Kimojis, some with customizable skintones. Kimoji’s success has led to the launch of related merchandise, including phone cases, key chains, gift-wrapping paper, etc.
